Mihi Lawan

Mihi Lawan, a community-driven reforestation initiative organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo – Faculty of Management and Finance in collaboration with the Kegalle Regional Council, was successfully conducted on 24th April 2026 in Galigamuwa, Kegalle. The project aimed to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness among young generations about the importance of reforestation. Activities were carried out at Pindeniya National School and Hakahinna Primary School, where over 5,000 plant saplings were distributed and planted. Supported by government authorities, sponsors, and national media coverage, the initiative also introduced a post-care monitoring system involving students and parents, ensuring long-term environmental responsibility and sustainable community engagement.
