MARVEL
/Little Paws was a meaningful animal welfare initiative organized by the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance to support homeless and differently-abled animals while promoting compassion and responsible animal care. The project focused on improving the living conditions and well-being of animals residing at a local shelter.
As part of the initiative, essential food donations were provided to support the daily nutritional needs of animals at the shelter. These contributions helped ensure better care and improved living conditions for the animals.
Beyond donations, the project included active volunteer engagement, where members participated in cleaning shelter premises, feeding animals, assisting staff, and interacting with the animals to provide comfort and care. These activities created a positive impact on both the shelter environment and the animals’ well-being.
Through this initiative, participants developed greater empathy, responsibility, and teamwork while raising awareness about animal welfare and encouraging continued involvement in humanitarian service.
