Hero in You

Project Hero in You was a meaningful initiative organized under the Community Service Avenue of the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo Faculty of Management and Finance during the Rotaract Year 2025/2026. The project was designed to create awareness, inspire compassion, and support individuals facing serious health challenges through two impactful phases.

The first phase focused on Thalassemia awareness and prevention. An online awareness session featuring Dr. Saumya Warnakulasuriya was conducted to educate participants on the importance of early detection and prevention. This effort was further strengthened through awareness campaigns carried out via social media and the FMF Blog, along with a public handout campaign in Pettah to spread knowledge among the wider community.

The second phase focused on supporting cancer patients by providing essential medical donations to Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama. Through both phases, the project successfully fostered awareness, empathy, hope, and meaningful social impact within the community.
